Which Method(s) May Be Right For You?

There are several methods of NFP to choose from. Please take a moment to read through this comparison chart for the different methods.

Another helpful tool to help you focus in on the method(s) that may work best for you is taking this brief questionnaire.


NFP Classes Available

Below are brief descriptions of NFP Methods. Select the method(s) that may work best for you. The descriptions will also include the approximate cost for each class. Once you complete this questionnaire, our Diocesan NFP Coordinator, Kayla Hoecherl, will be in contact with you regarding any questions you may have and give you the next steps for registering for the actual course you wish to take.  

  • This method tracks two signs of fertility: cervical mucus and sensation. Your instructor will work with you in person or virtually. Regardless of the particular couple situation, the four simple rules of the method are the same for everyone. Charting is required.
    Cost for Option 1: Fertility 101 Overview Session is $50 per couple.
    Cost for Option 2: Fertility 101 - Full Course is $200 per couple.

  • This method allows you to choose 2 of 3 biomarkers to track that work best for you: temperature, cervical mucus, and urinary hormones. Charting is required.

    Cost: $200 for four instructional sessions. Unlimited support from instructor for 12 months

  • Virtual with a CCL instructor. (It can also be taken en Espanol): This method tracks 3 signs of fertility: Temperature, cervical mucus, and sensation. Charting is required.

    Cost: $150 in person or online.

  • This method tracks two signs of fertility: cervical mucus and sensation. You will be working with one instructor in person or virtually. This method is a medical model and is appropriate for all couples choosing to use NFP. It is especially helpful for those couples that have fertility/gynecological issues. Charting is required.

    Cost: $240 (Includes: Introductory session, materials, and follow ups 1-5). Payment plans are available.

  • Tracks several symptoms of fertility, including a hormone crosscheck, and pairs well with specially trained physicians to treat root causes of reproductive health concerns. Works well with irregular cycles. Charting is required.

    Cost: $195 (includes all instruction sessions, paper and app charting materials, and four follow ups.) Additional costs: LH strips approximately $15. for a 30 day pack lasts about 3 months.

  • This method adds hormone tracking and requires the purchase of a ClearBlue Fertility Monitor. The instructors for the Marquette Method are registered nurses or other medical professionals (MD, DO, Pharmacist, etc). You will be working with your instructor in person or virtually. This model is appropriate for all couples choosing to use NFP. It is especially helpful for those couples that have a hard-to-read mucus pattern or that are postpartum. Charting is required.

    Cost: $150-$175 per training course, $120+/Clearblue Fertility monitor, plus $18-20/month test strips.

  • This method tracks 3 signs of fertility: Temperature, cervical mucus, and sensation. You will be assigned an instructor that will work with you through the course in an online format. This method works well for couples choosing to use NFP. Charting is required.
